Christian Lacroix launched his Haute Couture house in 1987 and his work was instantly adored and revered world wide. He defined an era and he was crowned the King of Couture. A ready-to-wear line soon followed along with perfumes and menswear. This dress has the vivid pink main RTW label in it
The dress is made out of a silk knit that has been dyed to a deep rich burgundy. Woven though the knit is a fine gold lurex thread. The gold is quite extensive which give the entire dress a subtle glimmer that is just fabulous. The dress is completely cut on the bias. You just slip it on and it shapes itself over your curves. The ribbing of the knit and the gathers on the bust allow the dress to stretch or contract as needed to the dress is very flexible in size. The ribbing has been done for the entire back of the dress and the front part under the bodice. The bust area is gathered in puckered finish that feels very avant garde. This treatment to the knit would have been pretty innovative for this time period. The hem is finished with a ruffled effect. I love how the knit creates a long lean line once it os on. If you wanted to add more shape you could easily belt it. Very easy to wear and comfortable on. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips over the head to wear. The bias cut knit should work on a range of sizes. It as a lot of stretch and I have given the comfortable range of measurements below
